“Morning by morning, O Lord, you hear my voice” (Psalm 5:3) March 4
Love is Perfect
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).
These familiar verses are often heard at weddings, but love isn’t just for weddings. It is for everyday life. We need to be patient and kind to all with whom we come in contact. Pride, boasting, and selfishness cause problems in interactions with others. When we put others down in order to promote ourselves we are harming our relationships. Delighting in evil and keeping a record of wrongs hurts you and is a time waster in your life. In today’s world laughing at someone’s misfortune and retelling it for the amusement of others is an example of taking pleasure in something that is wrong.
