One of our members arranged for three articles in the November 2008 issue of Gospel Tidings dealing with the theme, "Islam: A Counterfeit Religion." The reasons for using this characterization will appear in the articles themselves. And the motive for publishing the articles in the religious journal and in this space is to acquaint readers at least slightly with the origins and history of Islam.

In the spring of 2006 several members of our congregation completed a study of the prophetic books of Ezekiel, Daniel and Revelation, using video lessons taught by Brother Jim McGuiggan. A real and dedicated Bible scholar, Brother McGuiggan spoke with earnestness and kindness, reviewing and repeating often enough for us to grasp the thrust of these great prophecies. Since one of our members arranges for articles for a couple of Gospel Tidings issues each year, some of us decided to take advantage of that option and write articles trying to present the gist of what we had learned about the book of Revelation. Brother Bill Adcox, editor of Gospel Tidings, agreed to our plan, and the articles were published in the December 2006 issue. These are companion articles to our writings on Ezekiel in the December 2004 issue of Gospel Tidings, and we provide a link, below, to those articles.

As a further study help, we've also included a "Revelation Study Outline," compiled almost entirely from material by Jim McGuiggan as contained in his video lessons on Revelation, his commentary on Revelation, and articles on his web site.

 Brother McGuiggan, a native of Northern Ireland who studied and taught at Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock, Texas, is a longtime student of the prophetic books, having taught video lessons on Daniel and Revelation, logically following the lessons on Ezekiel. In addition, he has written commentaries on Ezekiel, Daniel, Revelation, Isaiah, 1 Corinthians and Romans, plus a number of other books, including The Kingdom of God and Planet Earth. In 2004 we offered a 24-week study of the book of Ezekiel, using video lessons presented by Brother Jim McGuiggan. All who attended were impressed by his grasp of the book and his ability to teach it in simple, forthright language. In the afterglow of the study, which all seemed to enjoy, four of the brethren wrote summaries of the teaching as they understood it, for the December 2004 issue of Gospel Tidings. They divided the book into parts, as Brother McGuiggan had done, and, with his permission, used his headings for the four articles. We hope the articles fairly state the gist of Ezekiel, at least well enough to encourage further study by the readers.
