Paul had been crucified with Christ. In a sense Paul is glad for that death. The old self was not right with Christ. Something had to be done for Paul to be right with God.
- Crucified With Christ
God wants us to change our lives. A part of us must die and be buried to signify a change. When we are buried in baptism, this shows the death of the old man. The person who was responding to sin is dead after baptism.
Gal. 5:24, Gal. 6:14, Col. 3:2-5
When you belong to Christ, the old person is dead. Live in the new ways of Christ.
- Christ Living in Us
The old person is replaced with Christ.
Jesus predicted that we would die to our sins and invite Jesus to live in our lives. We see Jesus with spiritual eyes. When we keep his word Jesus lives within us.
Christ is the cornerstone of the church, God’s temple.
The fullness of deity is living within us.
2 Cor. 4:7-12
God is in the Church and this fact helps us to live for Jesus Christ.
There needs to be more of Christ in our lives.
2 Cor. 13:5
Test yourselves to see if Christ is in us.
Living by Faith in Christ
2 Cor. 5:6-15
Have faith to live for Jesus.
2 Tim. 1:12
Jesus is faithful to us. We can trust God to guard our lives.
1 Peter 4:19
Trust and Obey.
