Our Theme for 2005:
Living for Jesus
Living Every Day for Jesus
—by Rebecca Ford
If you are not living every day for Jesus, you need to be. This theme brings to mind one of my favorite songs that I grew singing with my family: “Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.”
“Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before, Every day with Jesus I love him, I love him, I love him more and more. Jesus saves, and he keeps me. He’s the one that I adore. Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.”
This song for me says it all. If you are living every day for Jesus, you can’t help but follow and practice his teachings daily. In order to live every day for God you need to remember that you belong to the Master.
Psalm 33:12: ”Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.”
Psalm 95:6, 7a: “O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.”
God is on constant watch for his children; he fights every battle and comes out the victor every time.
My day starts with God and ends with God. I take him on the highway I travel every morning to go to work. I take him on my job with me. He is in every meeting, every venture I’m involved in, especially my dealings with my children and family.
I live every day so God can use me and bless me. When living for God, you smile even when you don’t want to. You help others when you think you have nothing to give. Your appreciation for others is more readily available. You even sometimes walk a little quieter, better to be seen and not heard.
Living for God means putting your faith and trust in him. Nothing is too hard for God. He will always take care of the situation whether big or small. When we get impatient and try to fix situations, we make a small problem big and a big problem even bigger. God’s power is so unimaginable that we are in constant awe of him.
God is just, faithful, a refuge and our strength. If we depend on him first in every aspect of our life, living every day for him will be a reward in itself. Every day with God is a new beginning; he let’s you make the choice whether to serve him that day.
If you have any doubts about living for God, just stand back see the wonders that he performs daily, every second, every minute. Man is always trying to explain the unexplainable, but those who know God simply refer to Genesis the first chapter where God stated many times, “Let there be,” and it was. This should make all tremble and work to please him. We need to thank him for loving us enough that he sent his only Son to save us. We need to live so others can see God in us and through us.
Cherish every day God allows you to live for him, and your faith, trust, and patience will be rewarded (Proverbs 3:5-6).“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
