There are some things that are beyond description. Sometimes our words fail when we are trying to tell someone something wonderful.
- God’s Ways Unsearchable
Rom. 11:33-36 – Paul is saying God is so far beyond us he can’t be described.
There are 5 billion people on earth. God is so much larger than that population, that it is impossible to tell about. God is greater than all. We need to keep the fact that God is great in the center of our mind.
- God’s Gift Indescribable
2 Cor. 9:15
The gift of salvation from God is so great we can’t understand all it encompasses. As an example, we don’t all totally understand the capabilities of a computer, but we can use it and enjoy it.
- God’s Love Unknowable
Our ability to understand the fullness of God’s love does not limit our ability to experience that love. Even the largest dictionary can’t define God’s love. Define means to set the limits of something. Love is described in 1 Cor. 13:4-8a. Sometimes we set limits on God’s love – we say it isn’t big enough to save me because of my sins. Don’t set limits on God.
- God’s Peace Incomprehensible
Paul says this peace is greater than any storm life can throw at us. We can experience a confidence and restfulness in the midst of the worst experiences of life because of Gods love. Don’t put limits on God in your life.
- Our Joy Inexpressible
1 Peter 1:3-9
The outcome of all this is a joy greater than we can express. God loves us and the depth of that love cannot be defined. Jesus won over sin and death and we can join in this victory.
