“Morning by morning, O Lord, you hear my voice”
Looking for a Home
(Please read Hebrews 13:14)
Early in the pages of the Bible we are treated to a picture of man walking with God in a beautiful garden home. But sin wrecked man’s Eden, and he set out on a long road of stubbornness and rebellion. A loving God refused to give up on him, however, and continued to try to lead man away from the enticements of the devil.
God’s desire is to get us home. This desire culminated in offering his Son on the cross for our sins. He invites us to inherit that wonderful place Jesus has gone to prepare for us.
An earthly home that points us to that eternal home is a blessing indeed. Once we looked to our parents to provide for our temporal and spiritual needs; now we look to a heavenly Father to provide far better gifts than are available here.
Let that heavenly home be the center of our hopes and dreams. May we look beyond this earthly home, where all things will be so much better than we can even dream or imagine.
You may be leaving your home this morning for a day of work. Please take God with you in your heart, look forward to your return and even more fervently to that eternal home which we all seek.
