Romans 8:28 – These blessings are offered to those who love God.  What is it that God expects from us in this love?-

  • Responding to God’s Love

Psalm 103:1-5  In loving God, we are starting from the point of God already loving us.  Praise is one aspect of blessing and being grateful to God for his love for us.  Remind yourself to express your love to God.

Romans 8:31-39

We conquer all suffering through Him who loves us.  God’s love will see us through all of life’s tragedies.

1 John 4:16-19

We love because he loved us first.  Perfect love casts out fear.  Troubles only give us the opportunity to learn more about God’s love.

  • God’s Jealousy

Exodus 20:5-6

God’s love is steadfast and all encompassing.  He wants our total devotion.  He does not want us to give our devotion to other “gods”.

Josh. 24:19-24

What’s really in our hearts?  Are we really ready to serve God?  Put away your idols and love God.  Move yourself towards God and lean on him.

James 4:4-5

Being a friend of the world makes you untrue to God.

  • With Our Whole Heart

Matt. 22:36-37

Love your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.  Make this your heart’s desire.

James 1:5-8

Pray for help in loving God. Ask in faith and God will answer.   Make your faith strong and steady so that you are ready to accept God’s blessings.

1 John 2:15

We only have room for one God in our heart.

Conclusion

Luke 22:33-34

It is so easy to fool ourselves about what is in our heart.  Your love will be tested this week. Ask yourself today- Do I Love God With My Whole Heart?
