“Morning by morning, O Lord, you hear my voice”
Made in God’s Image
“You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat” (Romans 14:10). If you live in a city or work at a job where there is a lot of diversity, why is it so easy to focus on the differences with others in such as manner of dress, habits, or appearance? Why does it annoy us when someone is different than we are? We are all made in the image of God and we should seek to see his image in all who are around us.
Focusing on differences is the cause of anger, strife and even wars. Focusing on what we have in common with others lays the groundwork for friendliness, mutual understanding and communications. “So then let us pursue the things that make for peace and the building up of one another” (Romans 14:19).
