For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. —John 3:16

As human beings we can only hope that we can practice, experience or just witness that kind of unconditional that God exhibits toward us.

As a Christian woman, one of my favorite passages that I love to read is 1 Corinthians chapter 13. This chapter speaks to the heart of mankind. We can be the greatest people in the eyes of the world according to man’s society; but if we don’t practice love toward our fellow man, we are nothing in God’s eyes.

God Is Love.

Love should bring out the best in all of us. Love should always practice patience, understanding, always accepting of others. Love is praying daily for others as well as ourselves. Love is helping your fellow brother, sister, children and spouse to make wise choices. Love is supporting them when they don’t.

Love is forgiving others even when it’s hard to forgive. Love does not delight in others’ pain. Love is taking your children to church as babies in the hope that when they are adults they will remember that God is always on their side even when others aren’t.

Love knows that parents are not perfect but God is. Love knows when to be quiet and let God work. Love for me also knows when God speaks and I listen and act accordingly.

Love for me knows that the Lord is my Shepherd and I will never want for anything.

Love for me knows that my family is a haven of love, patience, and understanding.

God is love!

Lovingly submitted,
Rebecca Ford
