Many Biblical writers have pictures of Christ. In John’s gospel there are 21 portraits of Christ.
John 13:23-25. John was closest to Jesus. He was Jesus’ best friend. This is a complete look at the life of Jesus.
John 20:30-31. These were written so that we can picture and believe in Jesus.
John 1:1-14. Jesus was the Son of God. Jesus refers to His father over 100 times (references).
John 3:1-11. Jesus was a divine teacher. Jesus was to teach us the ways of God.
John 5:1-9. Jesus was a compassionate healer. He could cure instantly. His power is available to us through faith.
John 6:31-35. Jesus is the bread of life. Jesus is the spiritual bread.
John 6:48-58. This bread is the bread of eternal life.
John 9:1-7. Jesus is the light of the world. He came to show God’s ways of treating one another and living for Him. Show people the Light.
John 13:1-17. Jesus is a servant. Washing people’s feet was the lowliest job and this was the job Jesus chooses.
John 20:1-31.
Jesus appears to the disciples in verse 19-29. Jesus met and conquered death.
Rev. 1:17.John saw Jesus in heaven- He has the keys of death and Hades. Jesus has overcome death.
John 20:31. May these portraits increase our faith.
