Eph. 6:10-18

Our physical body needs to be protected in order to survive. We must have protection for our hearts and our souls in order to survive the assaults of Satan.

We are protected by the Word of God. In Eph. Paul uses the example of the Roman soldier’s armor to show how we are protected.

Righteousness, Truth, Faith, Gospel of Peace, the Word of God, and Salvation are the protection of our spirit. God’s word is central to freeing us from the effects of sin.

•God’s Word Is:
Powerful (Truth)
John 8:31-36
The truth if God is all powerful in its ability to protect us from Satan.
Purposeful (Gospel of Peace) Hebrews 4:1-11
God has a goal in mind for his word. God wants us to rest with him and be at peace. He does not want us to experience sin and the turmoil it brings. The word is intended for sharing with others.

Penetrating (Sword of Spirit)
Heb. 4:12-13, cf Heb. 3:12-19
The Word is able to see within the spirit. It can bring out the things that need to rooted out. We have protect ourselves from unbelief and the word can protect us from that.

• Word Produces
Faith leads which leads to Righteousness and that leads to Salvation
Rom. 10:8-17
Rom. 4:1-9

Word Protects the Soul (not the body) from:
Satan, Sin, and Hell
The Word protects and nourishes us.
