There are seasons of life when we experience great burdens and there are times when we experience great blessings.
- Denying God’s Power
Jer. 12:1-6 – Jeremiah is struggling with how strong the evil people are. God says if you can’t handle it now what we will it be like when you face personal problems. You need to call on me and rely on my power and be stronger.
2 Tim. 3:1-5– When God is talking about hard times he doesn’t talk about natural disasters, he talks about how bad people can get. God makes the power to change available to us.
- Experiencing God’s Power
Matt. 26:63-64 – God is Power. Do not have a religion that denies God’s power. Experience and rely on God’s power.
Romans 1:16-17 – The message is the power of God. When we experience baptism and salvation we experience God. The relationship with God is real power in our lives.
Eph. 1:18-21- The resurrection was a manifestation of the power of God. Faith is the way to unleash the power of God. We need to open ourselves up to God.
Eph. 3:14-21- God can do far more than we can imagine. Prayer and faith will strengthen our soul and spirit. Let’s ask humbly for help in living for him.
Eph. 6:10-20, Col. 1:11– We can put on the armor of God for spiritual safety.
It so easy for us to say, I’m not able to tap into God’s power.
- Expressing God’s Power
1 Cor. 1:18-24 -It isn’t in mans greatness that God’s power is unleashed, but in man’s neediness.
1 Cor. 2:1-5 – Paul was weak so that their faith was in God. Our faith should be in God, not the Church.
2 Cor. 4:7-12 – We are like a clay pot – weak and fragile. The great treasures in heaven are deposited in these weak vessels. When we are able to rebound it is only through the power of God.
2 Cor. 12:7-10- Power is perfected in weakness. God is the power we can always rely on no matter how weak we are.
2 Cor. 13:4– Jesus death and resurrection are the ultimate example of God’s power.
1 Tim. 5:5– We all are as helpless as this physical widow so we need to all fix our hope on God.
