Evil has been explained more fully to us in this day and age than in ancient history. We have been given Jesus and the plan to avoid Satan.
- Satan’s Plan
Matt. 4:1-11, Mark 1:12-13, Luke 4:1-13
Satan was bold in his temptation of Jesus. Satan always plans based on our weaknesses.
2 Cor. 4:3-4
Spiritually we can’t see if our minds aren’t clear. Satan can blind us spiritually.
2 Cor. 11:3
Even believers can be led away by Satan. We must not give Satan a foot hold to take away our faith.
2 Cor. 11:13-15
If we pay attention to what God has told us about Satan, Satan will not be able to fool us.
1 John 5:19
Satan is able to influence the whole world.
- Resisting Satan
1 Peter 5:8-11
We are called on to put up a fight against Satan.
If we resist Satan, he will flee.
Be prepared to resist the devil by knowing what God has available. Use God’s word to stand firm against Satan’s schemes.
- Overcoming Satan
Matt. 13:19, 23
People can loose the benefit of the word of God by not putting forth the effort it takes to embed it in their lives. The word must be buried deep in our hearts.
2 Cor. 2:10-11
Forgiving others is a powerful tool in defeating Satan.
God defeated Satan for us by giving us a way to have our sins forgiven.
2 Cor. 12:7
The humble receive God’s grace and this person is in a position to overcome Satan.
God’s grace and his love and kindness towards us are the greatest tool we have to defeat Satan.
1 John 4:4
God is greater than Satan.
