One of the pre-requisites for the first deacons was to be filled with the Spirit. These were humans were not perfect, but were enabled by God to do a job. God uses flawed people to do God’s will. You must work to become like God in your behavior.
The Gift of Prophecy See Nehemiah 9:20 Numbers 11:16-30 – Elders of Israel – These elders were given the Spirit and were able to prophecy 1 Samuel 10:1-13,11:6 – Saul – He is the first king of Israel who was able to prophecy by God’s power. 1 Samuel 16:13, 2 Samuel 23:2, 1 Chronicles 28:21 – David received the Spirit. The Spirit was taken from Saul Others who received the Spirit – Balaam, Elijah and Elisha, Amasai, Azariah, Jahaziel, Zechariah, Ezekiel, and Micah Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12,13,14, 1 Peter 4:10-11 – All abilities come from God both natural and miraculous.
