People have struggled with the idea that Jesus was ever a physical man. Jesus was fully human.

God said that some day a man would fatally wound Satan. This is a promise of God.

God says that He will raise up a prophet like the people. People needed to know that they should look for one to come who would show them the way to God.
- Daniel 7:13
The phrase, “One like a son of man” refers to one who will be a savior for the people.
- Luke 1:31
There is a prediction that the one in Mary’s womb is the savior.
- Luke 2:10-12
The sign for the Shepard was a baby in a manger.
- John 1:14
The word became flesh and dwelt among us.
Jesus had physical characteristics. He is connected with us as physical beings.

Jesus was hungry.

Jesus said, “I thirst.”
The verses describe us as physical human beings. We need to recognize Jesus as a physical brother.

God sent his own Son as a human to become like humans.
Jesus was born of a woman.
Jesus took on the form of a man.

God was made flesh in Jesus.
- 1 John 1:1-3
Jesus was human. At this time some were claiming Jesus was not human.
- 1 John 4:2-3
Spirits that confess Jesus is from God.
- 2 John 7
A person who doesn’t acknowledge the humanity of Christ is not from God.
It is a challenge to us to reconcile the awesome power of God and the human form of Jesus.
Why was Jesus born of flesh?

God is in control of our physical world.
To fulfill prophecy
God could tell David about Jesus and then generations later fulfill that prophecy.
God is in control of the world today.
To be resurrected
To redeem God’s children

The blood of Christ redeems you. Jesus bought our salvation with his blood.
To be an Example
- 1 Peter 2:21-25
Jesus was an example to us.
Jesus has shown us how to live a life for God. How interested are we in living a life for God today?
